Strong Start

Rebuilding Bart from the remains of the owlbear’s nest. Meeting Letita - an escaped commoner who wants the Gaoler killed.

[ ] The Gaoler is an infamous kidnapper and torturer. He preys on isolated travelers journeying through the region and on the citizens of Redtower, where he’s invoked by frightened villagers as a local demonic bogeyman.
[ ] Many don’t believe the Gaoler is real. But he is and he’s worse than anyone has described.
[ ] The Gaoler doesn’t work alone. He has an assistant—a tusked crimson ogre called Scar—and a compatriot of sorts.
[ ] A blood cultist named Ushulx (see the appendix for both) who is here for her own reasons.
[ ] The Gaoler’s chambers make up half the first level of Scarlet Citadel. The other half is made up of the crypts of the Holzanger crypts.
[ ] Others have been captured by the Gaoler including a knight named Barrett, and a halfling and human named Dugan and Ichban.
[ ] Something dark and terrible awakens the dead in the crypts. Even the Gaoler and his followers don’t go into that part of the crypts.
[ ] This section is rife with undead, thanks to a weak spot in the dimensional barrier between Midgard and the Dry Lands.
