Three Red Thorn bandits confront the characters. Ryanne Dusklover – Red Thorn Bandit Captain of the Ruined Tower wants the characters to delve into the ruins beneath the tower to recover the strange idol that Denel Corent – Lovestruck Dwarf said was hidden down there.

- [x] The Red Thorn bandits serve Greaves Redthorne, an outcast
Knight of St. Ydris.
- [x] Denel Corent – Lovestruck Dwarf isn’t really in love with Ryanne Dusklover – Red Thorn Bandit Captain of the Ruined Tower. He was trying to use them to kill off the monsters in the ruins to get the idol. They didn’t buy it though.
- [ ] Long ago, the Cult of Black Marrow worshipped a powerful creature called Unduluk beneath this tower.
- [ ] The Green Knights, the predecessors of the Knights of St. Ydris sacked the tower and put the marrow cult to the sword and torch.
- [ ] The Marrow Cultists were shapeshifters (like in the Thing).
- [x] The Idol of Black Marrow is very valuable and potentially very dangerous.
- [x] Greaves Redthorne sent Ryanne Dusklover – Red Thorn Bandit Captain of the Ruined Tower to recover the idol.
- [x] Ryanne found out that Denel Corent – Lovestruck Dwarf knew where the idol was – down in the Ruins of Marrow. She had hoped to send the dwarf to recover it. He hoped to send the bandits to recover it.
- [x] The Mire Castle Ruins – soaring stronghold of the Green Knights now sits deserted, hazy light filtering through its shattered, stained glass windows. Slain warriors still roam its halls in an unending battle between the Green Knights and its surviving offshoot, the Knights of St. Ydris (1406). A weapon both sides claim, the Emerald Blade, lies in the ruins.
- [x] The knights of St. Ydris are cursed knights who walk the path of St. Ydris the Unholy, the Possessed. They embrace the darkness in order to fight it, cleansing evil with a flurry of steel and forbidden sorcery.
