Campaign Finale
Huge final battle with tons going on. Lots of independent villains. Lots of things happening within and outside of the characters control.
Characters used things well outside of their normal combat abilities. Casting arcane gate on the central crystal to destabilize the ritual. Using banish to wreck the ritual.
Lots of people dropping, lots of "we're going to die, YOLO!"
Players seemed happy with the kitchen sink conclusion.
Hand-waved their exit from Making and left them at Salvation on the edge of the Mournland.
One Year Later – Sunday Game
- Zarantir started up an airship business in the Lhazaar principalities. Partnered up with Shane Husk with a Joco-cruise-like junket.
- Shane Husk brought Leto Skalle to trial with the Aurum and ended up focusing on research. Wrote a book on the Second Mourning but it was really long and not edited particularly well so never as popular as his first book. Enjoyed his junkets with Zarantir anyway.
- Xi spent a good deal of time exploring the mysteries of the Mournland. She found a whole bunch of warforged parts and brought them to Banner, including a new arm after Banner lost his during the final battle with Entropy.
- Banner stayed in Salvation and spent his days understanding himself and other Warforged. Went on many adventures with Xi.
- Shift rejoined the Followers of the Becoming God; never truly joining their religion but serving them in connecting with humanity through a series of Warforged-style renaissance fairs across the land. She moved Krash's personality over to a small teddy-bear style warforged who served as her companion. Over time she started shutting her mind off for long periods of time until one day, a thousand years later, adventures came to her to learn about what happened in Clawrift and found her rusted and standing in the center of the ruins of an old faire.
- Saber continued his studies of the Four Winds, trying to rehabilitate Skar, and eventually leading his order. He astrally projected himself to the ruins within Lamannia, the Twilight Forest.
Big Thoughts
- [x] I loved Eberron and would love to run more campaigns there.
- [x] I felt a much stronger connection to this campaign due to it being homebrewed.
- [x] Homebrewing the campaign definitely took me more work. While it's a lot of up-front work to wrangle a big hardback adventure into a campaign up front, its easier week by week.
- [x] Eberron RotLW and Exploring Eberron are the go-to books to have but the 3.5 Eberron books can fill in a lot of blanks when one needs them.
- [x] I loved running half the campaign in Sharn and half in deeper exploration. It was harder to make locations in the Mournland interesting and provide upward beats in such a terrible land.
- [x] I loved letting the fronts drive themselves. I had no idea the Daughters would be a main antagonist until they were.
