• [x] My experiences and recommendations for running Rime of the Frostmaiden

    • [x] Be ready to do a lot of work to wrangle this adventure into shape. I felt like I had to do the most work of any hardcover adventure to get it where I wanted it. That said, my players and I still enjoyed the campaign.
    • [x] Chapter 1 is huge. Cut it way down or you’ll get stuck in it forever. Cut anything you don’t like and focus on about four quests before they get to chapter 2.
    • [x] Add your own hooks and connections to tie chapter 2 to the rest of the campaign. I used a key-focused approach. You need the Summer Star or the Horn of Blasting to get through the Reghed glacier to get to the Caves of Hunger. You need to find the bell of Anajuck to get to Solstice island, etc.
    • [x] Don’t worry about the timeline and travel distance of the duergar and Chardalyn dragon in chapter 3 and 4. Run them as they make sense and for the fun of the game.
    • [x] Add your own take on the trials of Auril for Grimskalle. Base them on the characters, their drives, and their motivations. Be ready for them to fail.
    • [x] Add your own story that ties together Auril, Grimskalle, the Codicil of the White, and the necropolis of Ythrin. I chose to have two requirements to end the Endless Night: The Codicil of the White and the power source of Thruun in the bottom of Ythryn.
