My character, Perrin, is a bit of a survivalist/prepper and feels there is an 'alien' conspiracy afoot (henced having the 'fey touched' trait), given he may have been 'abducted' in the past... perhaps if there are items that tie into this - perhaps an artifact Perrin has discovered or an odd device or weapon (futuristic tech or divination) that supports his assertions.
IMHO, an easy out here is a magic longbow, ring of prot, boots, or something typical for a ranger; I would lean to these for Adventurer's League where some crunchy math help matters more. I feel our longer format offers opportunity for some "down-list" magic stuff. Flying carpets? Cool. Cubes of Force - very sci-fi. Laser rifles - all day. Telepathic helmets, divination items, psi crystals, perhaps? Weird rings (like Artus Cimber's), tattoos, or wondrous items? Stuff with embedded personalities? Boons with super-powers? Who knows? If there is story to tell about it above a raw mechanical fit, I feel that can be very fun in some situations, if not char-op'ed.
Scanning the MI database, seems like many of the appealing items to me (for this campaign) are for wizards or sorcerers - lol (maps, cartography, diviniation, crystals, etc). Tasha's has a robe (Nature's Mantle) and sickle (Moon Sickle) for Rangers that seem cool. If I could go outside of canon - Arcana of the Ancients has several theme-appropriate "devices"...
