When Zariel traveled into Avernus with the Hellriders, she had five generals in her service. When Zariel fell from grace, three of these generals followed her while two remained pure.

When they arrived at Avernus, Zariel bound the generals together so they would never lose eachother in the first layer of hell. Zariel released Yael from this bond when she gave her her sword. Only Jandar Sunspire knows where Yael rested.
